Event 1 (Day 1A): "That Never Happens"

Level 10 (Blinds 400/800/100)
Total Day 1A Entries: 158
Day 1A Players Remaining: 61

Tayor Honkofsky
Taylor Honkofsky had been grinding a below average stack seemingly the entire day.  After two limps of 800, the cutoff would go all-in for 1,400, with action folded to Taylor in the small blind.  Honkofsky would re-shove for just under 10,000, leaving the action on Mark Helffrich.  Helffrich would make the call, James Sloat would fold behind, and the hands would be tabled:

Taylor: A 10      Helffrich: A 9       Cutoff: K 6

Runout: 8 2♣ K Q♣ J

Honkofsky would actually have the best hand pre-flop, but would immediately find himself in bad shape (but was winning the side pot).  After the queen on the turn, Taylor would ask aloud for a jack, and that's exactly what he would get.  Honkofsky would make a straight and collect the pot worth close to 30,000, while eliminating the player in the cutoff (later identified as John Tsai).
